Work assignments:
The work chores consist mainly of jazz trio ensemble playing in schools, residential homes
and public concerts - but also in big band, orchestra and other settings. To some extent also
classical piano playing in projects. It is assumed that selected pianist will be living in Gotland.
Qualifications:
. Excellent jazz piano skills and improvised solos
. Experience in piano playing in larger jazz ensemble and/or big band
. Curious, open-minded and with a strive to develop musically
. Good score reading abilities for jazz and other genres
Merited:
. Arrangement writing and/or composing own music
Recruitment process:
1 . PLS submit your application, CV and motivation letter with deadline 30 September 2019.
2 . After deadline, instructions on a sound sample will be submitted to all applicants,
including various examples of your abilities as pianist, both soloist and sight reading, which
can be sent in MP3 or CD formats with deadline 15 November 2019.
3 . After assessment of received material, selected applicants will be summoned for a live
audition in Visby, Sweden.

About Gotlands musiken
GotlandsMusiken (GM), one of Sweden's 23 regional music institutions funded mainly by state and region, is Gotland's only regular professional ensemble with 15 full-time musicians for diverse styles of music: jazz quartet . woodwind quintet . brass sextet . GM Orchestra . Gotland Big Band.
GM has the regional music assignment, which encompasses community concert activities in schools, health care, local libraries next to public concert series. GM inspires, supports and collaborates with the local music life in the fields of youth and education, amateur music life, freelance professionals and concert organizers. GM carries out app. 310 activities per year for an audience of 33.000 people (2018), predominantly on Gotland.
